What is XERF?

XERF is an advanced skin tightening and rejuvenation treatment designed to improve firmness, facial definition and overall skin quality.

Originally developed in South Korea, XERF uses radiofrequency energy to gently heat the deeper layers of the skin. This stimulates your natural production of collagen and elastin, helping the skin become firmer, smoother and more lifted over time.

It is particularly effective for areas where we begin to notice loss of firmness or definition, including the cheeks, jawline, jowls, neck and under the chin.

How XERF works

One of the key benefits of XERF is its ability to treat the skin at different depths. This allows us to customise the treatment depending on the area and where more support or tightening is needed.

  • Shallower energy can firm areas such as the forehead and upper face.
  • Mid-depth energy helps tighten and support the cheeks and neck.
  • Deeper energy targets areas such as the lower face, jowls and under the chin.

XERF is also designed with comfort in mind. The skin is cooled throughout the treatment while the radiofrequency energy works beneath the surface, so most clients describe the sensation as a deep, comfortable warmth.

No numbing is required, there is little to no downtime, and collagen production continues to improve the skin over the weeks and months following treatment.

Every Facial at Glow starts with a thorough consultation to tailor every step to your skin’s needs. From there, our Skin Therapists combine advanced techniques and professional-grade products for visible, lasting results.

FAQs:
How long does a treatment take?

Usually 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the areas treated. How many sessions you need depends on your skin and your goals.
Which areas can XERF treat?

The face, neck, jawline and décolletage, as well as areas on the body!
Is there any downtime?

No. There’s no numbing cream and no needles, so you can head straight back to your day afterwards.
Does it hurt?

It shouldn’t. Discomfort is minimal: the cooling system and Wave Fit pulses keep the surface comfortable while the energy works underneath, and most people describe the feeling as warm.
How long do results last?

Typically 12 to 18 months. Most people keep their results topped up with a session roughly every six months, so twice a year.
How often will I need treatment?

Maintenance is usually two sessions a year, around six months apart. Your Skin Therapist will set a schedule that suits your skin.
Is XERF suitable for all skin types?

XERF adjusts to your skin in real time, so it works across a range of skin types and tones. Your consultation is where we check it’s right for you.
Is there anything I need to do before or after?

There’s no special preparation and nothing to recover from. We’ll give you any aftercare advice at your appointment.
When will I see results?

Your skin can feel tighter soon after a session, and firmness tends to improve over the following weeks as collagen rebuilds. Results vary from person to person.
